Cabo #10: Family Portrait

Cabo #9: Papa Love

Cabo #8: Glass-Bottomed Boat

One of the things to do in Cabo is to ride a "glass-bottomed" boat out to Los Arcos, these rock formations, and to stop at Lover's Beach on and island. Thus, we embarked on this adventure.
We just couldn't get away from these guys. It was like they were following us.

Proud, proud sea lions sunbathing on the stones.

The arch. El Arco.

The Pacific side of Lover's Beach. You cannot swim on the Pacific side down there - it's too harsh and full of rip currents. You can swim in the Sea of Cortez. All the previous shots above were the Sea of Cortez.

Cabo #7: Random Cutenesses

Cabo #6: On the Beach

The Bear and The Bug. New best buds.
Playing in the sand...

Oh, wait, wait, wait. THIS is the one we should call "Wishing you were here."

Cabo #5: The Shots He Makes Me Take

I'm too tired to post them all, but here's a random sampling of the photos Brent requires that I take. In this one, you find sushi in a restaurant display box - plastic, fake sushi that looks absolutely unappetizing. And the box - with that icthus, I can't decide if it's supposed to be a pulpit or some sort of church display case. ?!
Yes. Him and the sombrero-wearing perro.
This one goes out to all our friends in Ethiopia. Brent rejoices whenever he finds the Lion of Judah in unexpected places. Those crazy Rastas!
Hello? Uh huh? Yes, he's here. Benjamin, it's for you.
In Cabo, it's best to keep your monkey chained.

Cabo #4: Scenes from Around Cabo

Here they are, in no particular order.

Walking into town, we had to take this road filled with construction, exhaust, stench, and buses that made for fantastic photos.

This is a little coffee shop and market we stopped at along the marina. The espresso was decent, and the company wonderful. Despite being in a touristy area, we were the only tourists there.

Colorful serapes make for pretty pictures.

Cute little boutique hotel in town. Made me want to move there and live above some place like this in a breezy flat filled with potted geraniums on the balcony.

Pottery platters. I would have bought one if I could have figured out how to carry it on with a laptop, camera, diaper bag, and squirmy child and still be able to reach my passport without breaking the darn thing. While I have adapted to being a pack animal, I have not yet learned how to juggle.

The harbor. Lots of expensive yachts.

Um, can I just import this thing and stick it in my yard somewhere?

Lots of jewelry available, and they always cost $12 U.S.! I give you better price. Special for you. There were also several stands that sold glass maryjane pipes in all kinds of lewd figures. I really wanted a picture of those (were they heinous or hilarious?), but was too embarassed to take a picture.

The Papa, doing one of the things he does best. That would be a carne asada burrito in his hands. Incidentally, Benjamin LOVED carne asada. Also, because I just remembered it, Braden referred to Brent as "The Papa" as in, "Do you think The Papa would like to see my Spiderman mask?" Or, "Is The Papa sleeping?"

Pelicans. Everywhere. As you can see.

Little verandas off the shops are always good for displaying a few items.

This was the resort neighboring ours. How crazy is that?

Cruise ships everywhere. Almost like the pelicans.

An interesting tree.

Benjamin also eats fish tacos.

El Chef

Little P's chariot. We got attention from everyone with this thing. The local hawkers knew us by the time we left. One guy was calling Benjamin "Panchito." They wanted to know where they could get one for their wives...so their wives could carry them around. The tourists thought it was the coolest thing since the margarita was invented, and more than a few folks said, "I wish we had those when my kids were little..."

On the other side of this fence was a construction project. Besides stopping to let Little P check out the trucks of which he is so fond, we got a cool photo.

Oh, we do love the Virgin around here. But we love the beauty of the shrine even more.

On the marina boardwalk. More cool architecture.
